I have just upgraded to 16.10 and the BT mouse surprisingly works out of the box.
Using KDE Plasma and the subjective speed and responsiveness is much better!
It still freezes after closing and opening the lid
Also, Tuxracer causes just screen blinking, I see no game graphics. Maybe some DRM or Malli related issue. I run the drm enable script before 2nd try.

If its anything like mate, then the PB doesn't freeze just the backlight doesn't turn on as noted here.

Yes, it can be that, although I disabled suspend completely and it happens just after turning LCD off. So I just disabled turning off LCD when the lid closes.

simple way to find out - take a flashlight and see if the screen is on despite backlight being off

It seems like the screen was off, but the backlight was on. I may check it later.

Ok, I upgraded to 17.04 again and got my BT mouse working.
After dist-upgrade before restart, I did not enable DRM and run the commands to update kernel, uboot and package to 0.7.3 just for the cause.
After restart I was not able to connect to mouse, modprobe btusb gave an error. After another update I was able to pair my mouse.
edit: after installing kubuntu-desktop and switching to Plasma I could not login, there was just a blinking blank screen and nothing worked. I just saw a console for a few seconds after pressing crtl+alt+f1, but was not able to login because the display was just blinking. So another try today.

Update: As I wrote in https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...2#pid39812 I was able to successfully upgrade directly from 16.04 do 18.04 without problems, just with some held packages, but later I was able to unhold all of them and KDE works. Did not try to update kernel and everything, will try it today.
edit: updated kernel and everything works
Updated to Cosmic 18.10 and everything works, including KDE.

Edit Reason: tried again!
)
I tried the path 16.04 > 18.04 > 18.10. 18.04 worked fine for me, but after the upgrade to .10 I hang on the screen with the 4 Pine64 logos (can't remember what that stage is called). Anyone got any clues to why? When I got some spare time I'll check the logs and see what happened.
EDIT: Couldn't figure it out, so I started again and will keep it at 18.04 LTS for now. Looks so much nicer in terms of their Mutiny environment.
Anyone else find the Pinebook is unable to register the battery now? Conversely, the Pine64 Health script still can (numeric value under the trash).
