Power it up without the HMDI plugged in then insert the HDMI cable. Works in Android.

Actually the 20160603 build of Android with LCD support ( http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Pine_A6...e_20160603 ) supports using both HDMI and LCD at the same time. It is a cloned image and not sure if able to set up to use as a multiview or continual screen. I know this is working as I use it to play pokemon red on a hdtv through HDMI cables and it also shows on my LCD at the same time. Kinda overkill but cool none the less.

I just tried this and I was unable to connect to my tv via hdmi. Is their something I need to turn on? I know you have to go and edit some files in order to get the sound to go through hdmi, do you need to do something similar to activate the hdmi?

Did you get the LCD image ?  Also, you may want to consider giving ayufan's build a go.
