Hi all,
I just got my sealed PineTime a month ago, it was all up to date and working fine, then I left it in a bag and it discharged its battery. When I put it on the cradle to charge I get the pinecone in green, then it freezes on the InfiniTime logo. After reading other posts on the forum I tried various things.
- reset it - same thing happens
- reset it to blue pinecone - same thing happens
- reset it to red pinecone - same thing happens
- gadgetbridge was already disconnected, but I also turned off my phone and left it off and tried the above again
- allowed the watch to discharge its battery again then tried the above again with phone off (so there's no chance of any connection)
So I'm stuck, no matter what I do I can't seem to get past the InifiTime logo.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Ralph
The InifiTime logo is the prompt for the recovery firmware. You need to re-flash the firmware from this logo. Once you do that and have it working you need to validate the firmware.
Swipe right-->settings-->scroll down-->firmware-->validate

Thanks Gary, I appreciate the reply but I have no idea how to do this: " You need to re-flash the firmware from this logo".
Can you point me to a guide or step-by-step instructions maybe?
Hi Ralph,
1st download the latest release, (pinetime-mcuboot-app-dfu-1.12.0.zip) from here: https://github.com/InfiniTimeOrg/InfiniT...tag/1.12.0
For Gadgetbridge you'll want to use this guide to install the zip file. https://github.com/InfiniTimeOrg/InfiniT...tbridge.md

And here's the problem! GadgetBridge can't find the watch. I even uninstalled the app and re-installed it completely. I've restarted my phone a dozen times, let the battery on the watch expire and waited 12 hours, tried every combination of resetting the watch and phone and GadgetBridge.
Originally GadgetBridge did find the watch, it is only since the battery died and I recharged it that it freezes on this screen and can't be found.

Confirmed this worked in my case. Being stuck at the Infinitime logo for a while, but re-flashing did the trick.
To add: I left my watch completely drained before attempting this again. Had a new phone, so no prior connections to the watch had been made. Once at the Infinitime logo, I was able to get Gadgetbridge to see the device and connect to it (took two attempts, but the second attempt finally established a connection).
Was able to flash the firmware listed above.
Thanks GaryM.

Good to see you got it working! Just be sure you validate the software as stated in my earlier post. If you don't and the battery drains, it will revert back to the factory load or the same scenario you wound up in.
Have fun!

This didn't work me me however! I have completely drained the battery, uninstalled and reinstalled GadgetBridge and it won't connect no matter how many times I try it.
Oh okay... I know you've rebooted the watch many times, but try booting the watch into recovery mode by holding the button until the pine cone turns red. It'll boot again on its own (a large pine cone will turn green), and then the InfiniTime logo will appear. That should be the recovery prompt, and allow Bluetooth connections. Note that for Gadgetbridge to connect, it "must not" be connected to the phone's Bluetooth; however, you should be able to see the watch "Pinetime" available in the settings screen.
I guess this is as far as I can take you; if this doesn't work, then I hope someone comes along with other suggestions.

Hi Gary, thanks for the extra instructions but unfortunately I'm still in the same situation.
Here's what I did last.
- Uninstalled GadgetBridge
- Let the battery drain and left overnight
- In the morning put watch on the charger and then did a red pine cone reset, it turned red, then green then went to the InfiniTime logo
- Installed GadgetBridge and scanned for devices
- Nothing is found on scan
Update:
I noticed the option 'ignore bonded devices' was checked in GadgetBridge. If I uncheck this, then if I reset the watch (to either red or blue pinecone), then the watch appears on discover! It says that the watch is already bonded and gives the option to 'pair' or 'don't pair'. If I choose 'pair' it says 'trying to pair with already bonded device', and fails. If I choose 'don't pair' it says 'already bonded, connecting', and fails.
Note that the watch only appears on a scan once after a reset, then subsequent scans don't find it until I do another reset, when it appears again, but only once.
I wonder what to try now? Surely it's hopeful that the watch is now seen (under some circumstances), but how do I connect to it?
Hopefully someone can offer more suggestions, otherwise my new watch is useless :'(
Thanks,
Ralph
