A BBQ prob base. 8 probes and eventually several remote probes and draft controllers. With cloud database and UI.
What will you be using your PINE64 for?

I'll probably look it for a long while as I have no idea how to get it going. But that does not mean I won't learn with the help of someone.
I bought a 1 GB (I think) with b/t w/f and Z wave All in the acrylic case. My aim was to get Z wave going but again I am not sure where to start. If someone would like to give an absolute beginner some starting tips I would really appreciate it. Thanks Mick

After playing with the Linux distro and checking performance of the audio I/O ports, I'm going to try and get some bare metal code loading on the thing, then possibly start a port of FreeRTOS to the board. That could be quite the cool thing!

I'm using one of my pines as a pine64 community IRC server (in sig). The other is reserved for experimenting. So far I have tried all the different Linux distros - I'm currently on Debian - and RemixOS. I am still to try the Android img. I may just end up setting my second Pine64 up as a web server and torrent box (to help out my fav distros / Pine64 imgs).

My first goal will be connecting it to a MIDI sprout

I'm hoping to be able to use them for PCAP. Currently we use micro Ubuntu PC's. I have a few other things in mind, but I'm hoping they have enough grunt to pull this off.
I'm also planning to use one for a desktop if it gets enough performance. I rarely use my gaming PC for gaming anymore.. Figure it's a bit of a power sink for what little web surfing I do. RemixOS should give me everything I need in that respect.
I have 4 spare 1U cases, I bought a temperature sensor board to control the fans and will mount my 6 1GB boards in there, with a 16 port gigabit router and with room for 9 more Pine64 later. I will then put a minimal Linux OS on my boards. Then add a Python 2.7 environment. That is all I need to then distribute my Machine Learning routines across all 6 boards supporting ensemble learning. If successful I'll expand to 15 boards, giving me 60 cores to play with. A GPU might be more powerful for the matrix manipulations, but involves extra code and more heat.
