from v0.20, eOVPN supports NetworkManager. for this to work, make sure you are using NetworkManager and has openvpn plugin installed.

sudo apt install network-manager-openvpn
sudo apt install network-manager-openvpn-gnome

then install eOVPN flaptak with --user option.
