I have just observed the battery charging becoming interrupted, indicated by the blinking red LED next to the barrel connector, while all six CPU cores were loaded at 100%. After providing some additional cooling to the underside of the laptop, the red LED stopped blinking after about 10 minutes, which indicates that the battery started charging again, all that with no changes to the 600% CPU load.
This pretty much confirms the previous conclusion that the battery stops charging under CPU load due to the BQ24171 IC overheating, which seems to be caused by the heat soak from the RK3399 SoC.
