I live like 75 miles from Compton, why can't you just mail it already?
I guess all is the pandemic fault.
Phones were initially going to be shipped on May 28. Then nothing happened for many phones, and they ask us to pay an upgrade service on June 9th so DHL would ship out the phones. I checked on DHL, and for the price we paid for shipping in total, this should be a few days shipping. However, weeks run, and nothing happened again. Last DHL-upgraded phones were supposed to be sent on June 19. Days passed, and many people only got silence. They asked for money again to upgrade the rest of the shipments. The remaining first shipments and the second shipments were mixed. There was a batch from the first upgrade that was never sent, and it was combined with the second DHL-upgrade. People started to get upset because of this trick. Other people appealed to the human nature of pine64 staff and how good people they are. Let's be patient. A few days ago, people received a message from pine64 containing a tracking number. Hurray? Not yet. This only informs that the destination country is printing labels. No news for the phone yet. At least it means DHL now is handling the packages. Might they be traveling? Or they might be waiting in china. Who knows.
Anyway, this is all because of the pandemic situation. Let's be patient.
I do not think ignoring peoples mails and posts is a fault of pandemic and silence here in chat is also not a pandemic fault. Moreover mixing first and second dhl upgrade batches do not look like pandemic issue. So my question is why you defending the people who do not deserve defending? And one point more previous delivery situation was almost the same with bravehearts and this was far before pandemia.
You pre-ordered an experimental telecomms product designed by a collaborative group of a few dozen (at the most) people spread around the globe, during the worst public health crisis and one of the worst economic crises of the last one hundred years. Please attempt to think about reality as a thing that wholly separate from and independent of your personal wants/needs/desires.
You think the Pine64 team wants to put people's packages on multiple different shipments? You think they're waking up late every morning, slowly sipping a coffee, smoking a cigarette, taking a shit, maybe tickling their navel for 30 or 40 minutes, then pulling out their phone to click "Ignore" on all of your messages specifically?
Everyone here respects your frustration - I'm willing to bet the Pine64 people do as well. The purpose of this thread is for people to give and receive updates on the status of shipments of the Pinephone and the Pinebook Pro. The pandemonium of bitching is just making it harder to get the information people need. Why don't you go write some 1-star reviews of various Amazon purchases you've made recently? That oughta make you feel better. Go blow off some steam!
I thin you're the only one who needs to blow some steam. Everything was said here as a negative experience was here in previous batches before the pandemic. So I'd say pandemic is just one of the points. Most of the points is wrong business strategy working with shitty shipment companies.
