Have you tried the tlp solution? Install tlp and go to the config file. Uncomment (delete the hash) for wifi power savings and make power savings be off on ac and on battery. I hope this helps! About suggestion world be too re-seat the wifi antennae inside the unit, but if it's working in other distros, I doubt that's the issue. Hope this helps! Keep on hackin'!
