1. It depends what you want to do with it, and whether any more hardware issues are found. 2. How long is a piece of string? It's hard to say for multiple reasons, not least the differing opinions on what's necessary, nice to have or just doesn't matter. If you can join in development to get the things you want working then it'll move faster.
3. Mobian? Your best bet is probably to try them and see which one you prefer.
4. Bleeding edge is fine so long as you know that things will break from time to time and you might have to reinstall. If you can file constructive bug reports, or better yet patches, so much the better.
