Agree with @tllim.

In theory, individual components, like the main board can be tested separately. But, the way the big boys do it, is with specialized test rigs. That can cost a lot of money, both to build and maintain. They do such high volume. it makes sense. But, any change to the board(s) to be tested, requires changes to the test rig, (or it's code).
