I think a lot of people are looking for alternatives, not for faster charging, but simply due to the fact that the included charger cord is absurdly short. I have an outlet pretty close to my desk at home and the cord is not even long enough for me to charge the PBP on my desk. I have to set it on the floor for the cord to reach.
grab a stable thread and 2 nails, then get an multi-extension cord and suspend it with the thread @10 cm below your table. you'll be surprised, how nice it is, to not have a super long cord
