Improving charging of PBP battery - james64 - 02-03-2020

I've read a ton of threads and see a lot of discussion around charging/discharging, links to Amazon power supplies, links to Pine64 usb to to barrel adapter.

Is there an incoming wiki section on charging solutions? Similar to the NVMe wiki section... basically a wiki section that confirms which barrel chargers work  and which usb type-c chargers work well?

Due to my location shipping will be a pain. Otherwise I would happily be a guinea pig and report back suggested power supplies on Amazon.

No mater what you use, you are limited to 15W charge...
I have a 65W USB-C charger for my Surface, and it makes no difference on charging the PBP. Just use the original one. It charges faster if it is turned off.

I think a lot of people are looking for alternatives, not for faster charging, but simply due to the fact that the included charger cord is absurdly short. I have an outlet pretty close to my desk at home and the cord is not even long enough for me to charge the PBP on my desk. I have to set it on the floor for the cord to reach.

Ok so then you can use any USB-C adapter with 5V/3a rating. It can be more then 15W with no issues.

grab a stable thread and 2 nails, then get an multi-extension cord and suspend it with the thread @10 cm below your table. you'll be surprised, how nice it is, to not have a super long cord  Angel

Send me a link to one of those USB-C adapter with 5V/3a rating.

Basic adapters as you mentioned, no fast charge. Just straight 5v/3a.thx

I am using a few different USB-C pd chargers I already owned for my pixel 2 xl - one cable is 10ft and it is awesome.

the included cord is uselessly short.

FAST charging and multipurpose. USB-C for the win.

This is the one I have..

It is cheap enough and also as I already said it is also 65W for charging my surface quickly.

REMEMBER :
The 5 volts DC volt will drop voltage very quickly with length !

** You want to extend the input cord

NOT the OUTPUT cord !
