Hi, yes if you want to make use of those extras (Power/Reset buttons, Power on LED and the fan), you need to add these scripts (but the fan can also be operated with some more fashion way (ATS: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=6953).
About the wifi dongle, I don't know since I use the cable
