Thank you guys for the update, it worked very well, I did change a keyboard setting too which by default was causing me some pain:
Keyboard Preferences -> Accessibility -> [disable] Ignore fast duplicate keypresses
I could not hit the backspace many times fast, now with the update and this setting it all feels very snappy
