@Danielsan - the only true crashes I have seen so far are related to the board overheating. Do you have a heatsink? Have you monitored the cpu load and temperature? You might check the logs in /var/logs if you see a true crash. It's important to point out that if ES restarts, but the entire system doesn't restart, that's not a crash. That's actually a recovery feature I added when an emulator doesn't correctly release the SDL resources and you would have been stuck at a "no input" screen without the ES restart. But to be clear, that's not a crash.

And you're correct that you cannot run any updates, recalbox is compiled from the buildroot toolchain without a package manager. The idea is that it comes with everything you need out of the box.
