Thank you.
I am not sure if anyone here knows or cares about Apple's current phone performance much less specific model numbers or generations. Estimates could probably be made if you wanted to give us information like a particular CPU and options but even then software optimization would have a major effect on how well a given chipset could be utilized.
I think it is reasonable that when competing between community developed FOSS software vs one of the largest ultra-corporations that the hardware designed to run software that is secure and respecting only the needs of the buyer vs Apple computer's needs and the needs and desires of the wireless service corporation who sells you the handset and wireless service contract, apple has the resources to make a faster and more artistic interface. But hardware designed for you not the state or a corporation will protect you in ways an apple phone never could. For example the modem is modularized, the modem''s cpu and FCC/CE certified hackable OS cant use DMA to read your main software loop's running memory. We even have paranoia switches to hardware power-kill the modem module, cameras, mic, and wifi/bluetooth. THese devices are not made to be the fastest, they arent particulary speedy, but the pinephone and maybe the Librem are the only mobile devices which long term cant be hacked using a Cellbrite machine should your mobile fall into the hands of the police or a national intelligence agency.
