oem stands for "original equipment manufacturer". however, i don't think that's the point. is it username?
my guess is, this is default install with default password, but what is default password, i do not know.
Zetabeta is correct about the definition of OEM. "oem" user is used as a temporary account until the user creates a new user during the first boot.

Above image show the user creation step on Manjaro KDE's setup GUI. After filling this form with your information and confirm the changes "oem" user is discarded.
I understand that I was too late to come here and the majority of people moved on, but I hope this will be useful to next person.
