1. 12 nano meter processor, to help power management of course maybe especially.

So we have the custom fabbed Rockchip RK3399S on the Pinephone Pro, most of the work to be done is getting reasonable mobile(vs desktop optimized) power usage in software especially compiling the OS components and apps(or implementing a hardware access layer) for utilizing GPU vs CPU and other hadware acceleration.

Getting a 'good' CPU and chipset which we have sufficient datasheet information to write open source drivers vs closed source blobs or clean room probing the hardware is difficult, for example the Linux Nokia 900 and Android(Linux) phones often can't be upgraded or use non Android distros because the manufacturer has EOl'ed the component or perhaps only ever released one compiled blob driver for a single Linux/Android kernel.

satellite bands, could you specify further?
Probably means the L-band Globalstar simplex rx-only service used by Apple(who bought 20% of GSAT) and SPOT gadgets for SOS and SMS-like sending for hikers. AAPL did some cellular modem baseband hacks for iphone17 and beyond, not so difficult when you can buy the 'secret' information.
<edit>
for those who want to add a little satcom module to your pinephone it is about $100 https://www.globalstar.com/en-us/products/iot/stx3
postage stamp sized transmitter, would need to 3D print an add on bulge to your battery cover.
