i don't know precise details of manufacturing process. general view is, smaller the process is more efficient cpu is. i'm not sure it is in all cases. battery life is important though. basically, longer battery life is more crucial than cpu power.

i don't think esim is a good idea. physical sims have some advantages, like swappable and removable, and if it is nano-sim, it is already quite small. esim is like installable system, once installed then it is there. installation process by modem chip may not be strait forward, although it is done by modem chip rather than phone o.s..
in my area, some operators charge every esim card installation, i wonder why.

yes, but physical size needs to be bigger as well. also for battery.

i would go bigger direction, although key reason is bigger battery.

if phone is possible to open, i don't think phone will have good water resistance. in a limited degree it's probably possible.

camera may have those driver issues, which may limit choices.

satellite bands, could you specify further?
if you refer to microwave bands in nr5g, they will come in the future. microwave bands coverage is quite small, they are useful for some, but near useless for others.
current implementation of nr5g is non-standalone. i think nr modules are slightly too expensive at the moment. however when standalone mode becomes more available, i probably change my mind.
if you refer to actual satellite communication, i don't think is a good idea, few users use it, and device has some unnecessary hardware modules.
