edit: it is working so far. I had the battery jumper off. installing it/shorting it, it now boots

so i have to do this

Code:
  # zstd -d slackware-current-*-server-*-build-*.img
  # dd if=slackware-current-*-server-*-build-*.img of=/dev/mmcblk0 bs=1M
if i try this

Code:
   sudo zstdcat slackware-current-*-server-*-build-*.img.zst > /dev/mmcblk0

i get "permission denied"

i get "permission denied"

Because in the latter example, you're only running the cat as root, not the shell redirect. Don't use sudo here, do sudo -i first to get a root shell.
