I am running Manjaro with Xfce. I try to update at least every two weeks. A few weeks ago I noticed I started getting quiet a bit of double letter errors when typing. The letter I notice this happening with the most is n but other letters will double up as well. I don't think it is from me pausing while typing. Has anyone else seen anything like this? Originally I thought it may have been something with one of the updates but I am wondering if it may be keyboard related.

I occasionally get a double letter here and there, but I haven't been able to make that reproducible. In my case, it just happens very rarely, which makes me think that it's just the way keyboard switches work on the PineBook Pro's keyboard.

It would be great if you could keep track of the repeated keypresses. Maybe we'd be able to figure something out of such data.
Edit: I can confirm that I occasionally get repeated Backspace keypresses, which result in deleting two characters instead of one.
I started seeing this same kind of behavior from my keyboard last month. Every other key would randomly start repeating (more like 10 each, instead of 2.) Letters, symbols, space, and backspace were all effective. I could usually tell when it was about to happen, bc a ~10s pause would occur while typing. After the pause I'd start seeing the repeated keys.
Primarily i saw this behavior in Manjaro, but nothing in that install since the latest updates, and nothing when booted from fedora.

Experiencing random pauses while typing followed by ten repeated keypresses is really strange, and it's even more strange that it happened on Manjaro ARM only. For future reference, did you get any kernel error messages upon those random pauses, and is your PineBook Pro an ANSI or an ISO variant?
ANSI, no kernel messages. any of my typing on screen was just slow, and then got "caught up" with the additional key presses
