For those who wants to have the best possible browser experience on TwisterOS Armbian 2.0.1, I strongly advise you to try new Chromium-beta arm64, it's better and faster than latest firefox, supports panfrost and full HW acceleration on browser and has video decoding features and can even work with widevine:
Instructions: - sudo add-apt-repository ppa : saiarcot895/chromium-beta - sudo apt install chromium-browser chromium-codecs-ffmpeg-extra Now, let's Force GPU acceleration Flags: - In chromium browser type: chrome://flags - search for raster and enable for both: 1. GPU rasterization 2. Zero-copy rasterizer -search for render and select enabled for 3. Override software rendering list - restart chromium. To enable hardware video decoding, open chrome://flags, search for "Hardware-accelerated video decode", enable the entry, and restart Chromium. Make sure your chrome://gpu matches mine: WebGL aquarium tests have some outstanding 30~33 FPS Many thanks at Saikrishna Arcot - Chromium browser Ubuntu 20.04 package https://launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/+arch...omium-beta

I am conflating two issues (the 2.02 patch with patcher, and the one I am really trying to solve, inaudible sound levels).
To dispense with the first, the 2.02 patch run from patcher seems to never finish. I am never prompted to reboot. I may not be patient enough. I'd suggest adding a progress bar to the patcher. As the 2.02 release notes show no mention of sound (my real issue), I have not run it by hand yet. The problem I can make no headway with: On a stock PBP running a vanilla Twister OS 2.01 from sd card (Manjaro on emmc), I have nigh inaudible sound. The snd modules and pulse appear to be in order, but the audio levels lack energy: sound is there, but as a practical matter, one cannot hear it. Manjaro has audible sound. This dmesg is the only sound related error I can find: rockchip-i2s ff890000.i2s: ASoC: error at snd_soc_dai_set_sysclk on ff890000.i2s: -22 and there are repeated instances of: [13877.758036] rockchip-i2s ff890000.i2s: Fail to set mclk -22 [13877.758698] rockchip-i2s ff890000.i2s: ASoC: error at snd_soc_dai_set_sysclk on ff890000.i2s: -22 A bit more info: systemctl | grep es8316 sys-devices-platform-es8316\x2dsound-sound-card0.device loaded active plugged /sys/devices/platform/es8316-sound/sound/card0 speaker-test runs, but is inaudible. speaker-test 1.2.2 Playback device is default Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 2 channels Using 16 octaves of pink noise Rate set to 48000Hz (requested 48000Hz) Buffer size range from 128 to 131072 Period size range from 64 to 65536 Using max buffer size 131072 Periods = 4 was set period_size = 32768 was set buffer_size = 131072 0 - Front Left 1 - Front Right Time per period = 2.763470 Twister is a remarkable product. Running the proprietary u-blox u-center.exe GNSS management tool was seamless out of the box. It makes the PBP+Twister an ideal field tool for cm level GNSS RTK surveying. The combination of these technologies brings the cost of RTK surveying down to c.$1500, typically that costs $20K+. Thanks!

Hi,
rockchip-i2s ff890000.i2s: Fail to set mclk -22 : I also have this error on armbian but does not impact the functioning. For the sound, have you tried to increase the alsamixer DAC : - in terminal execute alsamixer - with left and right arrow select DAC - with up and down arrow increase / decrease level & eventually other items of other alsamixer
