It is recommended to upgrade after flashing this image to fix Bleeding Tooth security vulnerability. This patch was not included as it was discovered after the image were shipped.
I am unable to boot this version. I get a kernel panic during boot.

Try reboot and see if it still happens. And if it still does, you will have to flash alternative U-Boot (u-boot-sunxi-with-spl-pinephone-552.bin).

It can be flashed by insert the SD card to your computer (or plug in the device with Jumpdrive on) and flash the file by running this command:

dd if=u-boot-sunxi-with-spl-pinephone-552.bin of=/dev/sdcard bs=1024 seek=8
Find me in the forest, when I'm at my lowest. I don't really think you should continue..

Thank you, 3rd upgrade successful, Bluetooth settings are now kept through reboots!!!! Have not tested much else yet.

I am finding various software hacks required as I move towards a daily driver and usable PC.
I reboot the phone every morning whether it needs it or not. It is quite reliable as a phone for the rest of the day.

Evolution is the easiest way to access CardDAV and CalDAV data, awkward but easy. To get Evolution to size properly run:
scale-to-fit Evolution on

Veraendert eyes must be much better than mine as I cannot use it for daily use, the only thing I can read is Evolution in the titlebar, lol

To size Contacts properly run:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 1

I have not found a way to make Calendar usable. The above scale-to-fit and gsettings command do not work. Still searching....

I am also moving towards using it as a PC by following this: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=10469, pages 3-4. A very useful thread for lots of application tweaks. Had an issue with the repository for gdm. Will try again

After that is to install Kalliope: https://kalliope-project.github.io/ to provide voice recognition. I run this software on machines at home and it is moderately Smile impressive.

I seem to be unable to record anything in gnome-sound-recorder (or any other recording software). When i hit the record button it just sits there and doesn't do anything. Does anybody have the same problem or can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this? Thanks.

If someone has the same problem updating like me: You need to add another repo first in /etc/pacman.conf

Thank you very much for that interesting image!

Here my observations:
  1. When booting I could not feel any vibration.
  2. After Installation of Epiphany it did not show up in the menu. (Edit: Later it suddenly showed up).
  3. Sound is good quality but rather faint. After installation of alsa-tools and setting the volumes to 100% it is ok, but could not find out how to make these settings permanent?
  4. Could not find out how to get the USB-dock working.
