Run Linux desktop as an Android application
#1
Hi,

I you ever get rooted Android OS running on the Pinebook Pro. We can provide our desktop solution based on Buster XFCE.
It takes 5 minutes to install and is done via two Android applications.

Here is a clip of VolksPC OS  running on ODROID-N2:

Android 7.1 runs on the PBP. Tried it out the other night. Had a few issues getting 8.1 going. Haven't tried 9 yet. Unfortunately none have play store already on them, and we only have play store installation guides for 7.1 and 8.1.

Post a link to the APK!

The Installer apk still needs  a driver that is matched to the kernel used in Android. So it does require little bit of work.
Android 7 is ancient at this point, so it is better for us to wait until a stable Android Pie is available.

There is a version of Pie that might run, for the Roco64Pro.

I have a rock64 (not pro) and the last time I tried Android release on it, I was disappointed -Sad. Perhaps I should give it another try.

Seems like pine64 is more focused on GNU/Linux desktop even though Android works much better on ARM.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Phie will stick around and provide us with newer builds of /e/. It would be great for the PBP, given how outstanding it works on the PB1080.

Ok, I tried it yesterday and it does not even boot from SD card, so it does not work in PBP.
