Community software support is a core premise of Pine64.  It always was, and it has never been a secret.  If no one has replied for 5 days, it only means that no one with the answer has read your post in the last 5 days.  Not that many people read this site that often and even those of us that do have fulltime jobs already.

A long time ago now, I had a German boss who vould say "Vas ist vrong mit YOUR hands?"

I understand that, but the lack of a WiFi driver seems to be a major problem to me. There must be one somewhere.

Is this discussed anywhere else apart from the forum? I've heard mention of matrix and telegram but am reluctant to use channels about which I know nothing, unless they are more valuable than this forum.

The PineTab2 hardware is fine and functional for a developer release; I’ve been using it daily since receiving it without any issues that I couldn’t solve with a simple online search.

As far as support goes, being that you can install anything you want on it and have the ability to completely customize the system, bootloader, compile a new kernel, etc... how else could you support it?  Even a full fledged 24/7 Global I.T. support desk would have problems with all of the possible ways users could mess up their systems.

moobythegoldensock is correct and I can add it's quite far from deployment.
Think (many) months, not weeks.

I agree that it is very flexible but do you have to attach a WiFi dongle? To me, as a portable tablet, taken all over the place, that is a considerable irritation, but I do understand that there is a problem with the driver.

The best thing you could do is offer to help with the driver.

I'm not trying to be rude, but someone has to do it. You didn't pay for a device with a polished operating system; you paid for hardware, which works really well. All who are willing can help in some capacity.

Thanks for the link. I'd happily help with the development of a driver but am concerned that my skills are not at the level reuired.

I’ve got a dock at work & home for it with cat6 & if I need WIFI, I just plug in my external tp-link AC1300 (with a better antenna), simple enough.

I’m mainly working with it, not surfing the net.
