Unsuspend → Black screen

Sometimes, when pressing the power button to un suspend the phone, the screen stays black.

I noticed two different cases:

- Swiping from the top of the screen sometimes "wakes it up" (try it if it happens to you, can save you a reboot).
- Nothing can get the screen to display something, I have to hard-reboot (not just boot, I have to stop it first by an ~8s press, then to boot it with a ~4s press).

So yes, Mobian is still running when it happen, I "tested" it only once as I was listening music, the screen was staying black while the musing was playing. I had to hard reboot this time.

This only happens to me when I set the brightness level on the lowest possible setting.

Yes, since the beginning of the year, a few times a week at lest. 
I guess it hast to do with the "flipping frames bug".

I think what you are seeing is actually another symptom of the mesa bug discussed, e.g., here: https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...#pid116068

The good news is that this is already fixed in upstream mesa and in faster-moving distributions (e.g., Manjaro). The bad news is that Mobian has not picked up the fix yet.

It doesn't happen to me but I very rarely lower the brightness.

Just upgraded mesa (yes it landed!).

Never lowered the brightness less than 25% just in case.

And the bug still occur to me, it just occurred right now, had to hard reboot (phone was not replying to pings / can't ssh).

Reading the journal, I don't see any activity (before the reboot) during the time I tried to wake it up, it looks like:

so clearly no activity here around 17:25 when I tried multiple time to press the power button before hard-rebooting it. I don't know what happen, any idea on how I could diagnose this? I bet serial over jack won't be of any help neither here...?

OK it clearly changed since the mesa bug. One of the two cases dissapeared: the one that was resolved by swiping the screen.

Now it happen always with the same symptoms:

- Always after a long time on charge, as if hitting 100% charge has something to do with it.
- When hitting the power button the blue led blinks like if I had a notification.
- Can't ping nor SSH
- Have to hard reboot (8s to power down + 4s to power up).

When it happen, if I unplug it, it changes nothing: the phone stays hot, the screen stays black when pressing the power button, can't ping nor ssh.

Have to hard reboot.

I'm still having this issue, which is unfortunate, because I'd be totally fine with say, Manjaro, if only it had Nheko, and the camera app that Mobian uses, as well as the keyboard case being BARELY functional. Anything new on this issue?

Same here! Often in the morning (plugged in over night), it's dead...
