User paulieg could answer that. In fact he already answered it. There's a search field in the upper right corner of this browser window and querying for 18650 will succeed for sure. Smile

Thanks! Looking at that thread now.

As for the connectors they are Micro JST the one for the 3.7v rechageable is a 3 pin and the one for the RTC battery is a 2 pin. Amazon has 2 pin but I didnt see 3 pin ones.

Ebay and aliexpress and mouser and maybe Jameco or Mcmelectronics etc.

Even when connecting an external HD to a computer, this is such a common problem that there are combo cables with a USB plug and a wall-wart power plug specifically for it. A possible problem with powered USB hubs is that they may limit the power output to each port (which is possibly the intent of the USB spec) and you could have the same under-powering problem. Of course there are also cases for bare HDs that have a separate power plug rather than are powered from USB.

I really don't understand this stuff and I read some horror stories early on so I'm gonna double check with you guys. Based on what I've read here I think this is safe...

I have a power brick rated for Input: 5V/2.4A Max Output: 5V/5.8A Max

and USB cable style 20851 80 degrees 30V VW-1 26AWG/2C + 28AWG/2C

...unless I'm mistaken about Amplitude, this should work to power and charge the pine?

Anyone know about this? I just don't really understand what it is that fries the board, too much power, too little power, or either.

Prefer 22AWG cable due to cable resistance that cause voltage drop and impact PINE A64 board stability, here is the good article: https://electronics.stackexchange.com/qu...martphones.
