You should really not use the preinstalled OS (which should be Manjaro with the Plasma Mobile UI if you bought your phone recently), it is very buggy and probably also really outdated now. It would be an unnecessarily frustrating experience. Instead, flash a recent OS (see https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_S...e_Releases for a list of available OS). I didn't try to use Plasma Mobile in the last few months, but each time I tried it was very unstable and crashed every now and then. I find Phosh to be much more reliable, probably still the most reliable UI as of now.
PinePhone Beta Edition 3GB RAM - custom firmware v.0.7.4 - ADSP v.30.007 - postmarketOS edge - sxmo

Thank you. It is Manjaro with Plasma. I did a full update last evening, using the pacman command in terminal, Had to update mirrors and turn on database lock, too. But the update completed successfully. Now, I find the phone hangs in the splash screen for "settings" when that option is chosen, and it does not see the SIM card.
