Ubuntu Video Performance
#1
Hello,

as Android isn't working great on the Pine64 2GB at least for me I tried the Ubuntu image. To be honest I'm not impressed. I tried to check a Youtube Video on a TV and it's like watching a slide show, the sound is normal but there is no video, just pictures.

Any idea why video performance is that bad? I expected a better initial experience.

Thanks,

Michael

Its because there is no 'good' video driver yet for gnu+linux.

... they're working on it. Apparently Allwinner has released some kernel blobs that will handle hw acceleration / but they're not quite ready (but keep watching) cause it will be soon.
