Hardware accelerated video is not yet implemented for Linux on the Pine64 (but nearly there as I understand). However, if you search the forums, you'll find instructions for installing the Chromium browser and that seem to do OK with YouTube even without it.

Full video on PineA64 using gnu+linux is not going to happen in the near future.

... and , as longsleep has continuously said, if you want to use video use Android.

We are preparing a thread to detail the specifics for why this is the case. The kernel has hdmi support, and we should be thankful for that. Also note, if there were a correctly implemented VDPAU for a browser on debian of ubuntu video would be possible without modifying the kernel.

If you need video, please use Android.

Well, I look forward to seeing the thread.  Between recent progress on Mali and the below thread regarding Cederus, I was led to believe otherwise...

I do have RemixOS on another SD Card and the latest version does OK. You can run Moonlight, Kodi, Netflix (which makes the wife happy)....all of that so, yea, it'll be a long time before Debian will catch up. Nonetheless, I'm kinda enjoying tinkering around with Debian. Besides, I got the steam controller working here, can't do that on Remix as far as I know (and solutions like VirtualHere don't seem to work)

Well, just so you hear it, the work you folks have done with this board is much appreciated. Wish I could contribute but, I haven't tinkered with Linux in a long while. To be frank, it seems to me that the people that sold the board in the first place should invest more in the developer community.

As I said in my (edited) earlier post....RemixOS does do video pretty well....and Moonlight streaming from your nVidia machine....but, alas, Android is so sterile...I do hope progress is made with Linux someday.
