Hi, everyone--
For the first time, I've got two cellular phone lines and am able to play more with the PinePhone Pro.
I called the PPP running Mobian, and it woke properly from sleep, and the modem also woke properly, but it wakes so slowly that the incoming call has gone to voicemail without ever ringing. It does say "Missed call" on the lock screen afterward.
If the PPP is already awake, it rings and receives the call just fine, so all I need to figure out is how to get the modem to wake fast enough to receive the call.
Any tips are appreciated. I plan on updating Mobian to the latest package versions tomorrow. It's been many months since I last powered on the PPP, so whatever it is running now is old.
I also will apply any modem firmware updates if there are any newer ones.
If updating is a bad idea, please let me know.
Thanks!

i don't usually use suspend. but i tested sending sms mesaage to suspended pp pro with mobian. it waked up quickly and received sms. but modemmanager crashed afterwards. mobian is recently updated trixie.
i probably need to make further tests.
updating firmware is tricky question. do you use https://github.com/the-modem-distro/pinephone_modem_sdk or stock https://github.com/Biktorgj/quectel_eg25_recovery ?
if stock, i don't recommend 30.20x.xx.xxx series. 30.007.30.007 is the latest i would suggest.
if sdk, latest is the best, but you have to choose appropriate adsp image.
i installed this version https://github.com/Biktorgj/quectel_eg25...203.30.203 one of my pp regular without major issues. still no recommendations for 30.20x series.

Thanks for the reply. I am on bookworm now and am having a tough time updating to whatever is current. I'll get back to you on this.
As for the modem, I think I went with the latest Biktorgj firmware at the time. There is probably something much newer right now. Thanks for the tip about not going to 30.20x on stock, and I will try the Biktorgj version you recommend.
Finally got bookworm updated to the latest packages as of today. No improvement in the slow modem wake-up. I will focus on the modem firmware next.
I confirm that I am running Biktorgj's 30.006.30.006 modem firmware. I'll try the newer Biktorgj 30.203.30.203 next.
That is not actually Biktorgj's firmware, but Quectel's stock firmware. He only hosts the repository with the firmware files provided by Quectel and the scripts to install it.
Biktorgj is actually the author of the FOSS firmware under the-modem-distro/pinephone_modem_sdk.

Thanks for your help! Upgrading the firmware from Biktorgj's 30.006.30.006 to Biktorgj's 30.203.30.203 seems to have solved the problem. The modem still goes to sleep, but it wakes up fast enough for the call to ring. I did not upgrade from bookworm to trixie.
As I said: s/Biktorgj's/Quectel's/g!
But good that you got it resolved.

Oh, I didn't know.
In that case, didn't I just go against zetabeta's advice of NOT going to the 30.20X version?
Hmm. Well, there is another problem now that the modem wakes up fast enough--there is no call audio even though it answers the phone. But I consider that a separate problem and will search for existing threads on it first before starting a new thread on it. Perhaps this new problem is related to 30.203.30.203--I am prepared to step back down to 30.007.30.007 per zetabeta's advice.
