Can't type @ from keyboard in chromium flatpak

I installed chromium via flatpak.
When I try to log into slack.com the username box does not allow me to type an @ sign.  Other special characters work.

Haven't tried in Mobian but under manjaro if you change to the "Terminal" keyboard layout while in chromium you can access the @ again (it's on the second page of symbol keys in that layout)
