Compiling Android from source

Is it possible for me to compile Android from source code and flash the sdcard's system partition with the new system.img? Is there anything else I need to do other then flashing?

This depends on how well you are familiar with Android OS and also Allwinner platform.

i hope they provide us with the device tree for compiling the system and kernel
i have tons of ideas to add some features to this
mostly usb capabilities
