  New Pre-release 0.10.9 from Ayufan
Posted by: Bullet64 - 04-09-2020, 06:49 AM - Forum: Linux on RockPro64 - No Replies

Quote:
  • PRE-RELEASE: unstable and should be only used for testing purposes
  • Fully reproducible, upgradable and trustable builds, build by CI system
  • Check Compatibility list to get know about the working features of each release

New Image Buster minimal arm64 works pretty well. Based on kernel 5.6 and included working wireguard 1.0.x.

Give it a try Smile

Question How to buy PinePhone WITHOUT opening a Paypal account?
Posted by: kramer65 - 04-09-2020, 06:43 AM - Forum: General - Replies (38)

I just wanted to order a PinePhone UBPorts edition, but when I want to pay by creditcard, Paypal requires me to open a paypal account.

I don't have and I don't want to have a paypal account. Does that make it impossible to buy the PinePhone?

  A few other questions
Posted by: the_hiacer - 04-08-2020, 07:58 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (2)

Hi Pine64ers,

Apologies for duplication questions.

I have done some searching and still could not find answers for the following questions:

1. If I place the order now and get my PBP, do I still have to apply the various updates from Mr. FixIt, ansi keyboard firmwares etc?
2. Does the new Manjaro linux come with native 64-bit kernel and 64-bit userland?
3. Will there be an official sticker for my new PBP?
4. Does the built-in WiFi support IPv6 DHCP?
5. Will cheap USB-to-serial adaptors work with the USB-A port? By cheap I mean around US$3 - 5.

Thanks community.

Exclamation PSA: refrain from using r/pinephone
Posted by: Luke - 04-08-2020, 01:09 PM - Forum: Community and Events - Replies (3)

We are a community driven project and therefore embrace just about everything our community does and makes. The community maintains our chats, the forums, our Wiki and even elements of our website. The community also actively participates in many facets of our decision-making, which even extends to creation of new devices and improving existing ones. In short, the community makes us what we are.

It is therefore with a heavy heart that I ask you to refrain from engaging with a community ran subreddit: r/pinephone. The way the said subreddit is ran stands in direct contraction to our values and those of our community. The growing number of reports concerning nefarious motives of the subreddit has now lead me to explicitly ask to you to stay clear of r/pinephone

I wish to underline that we have, on more than one occasion, reached out to reddit directly requesting a transfer of ownership. On both occasions our requests were rejected.

Lastly, I wish to make it known that all the above relates specifically to r/pinephone. To our knowledge all other community-ran PINE64-related subreddits are moderated in accordance with common sense and in good faith.

  BMA421 driver
Posted by: matthez - 04-07-2020, 12:22 PM - Forum: Development Discussion on PineTime - Replies (10)

Hi there,

I tried out some of the fimewares out there for the Pinetime, great work.
Currently I stucked in trying to get the BMA421 running with Interrupt on any motion.
The chip denies the driver which is been loading into the internal ASIC.
Does anyone have a glue where to get it from??
In the Manual for the similar BMA423 its been called config file, should have the size of around 6kB.
Maybe a binary blob of the original software?

I used the repo: https://github.com/sethitow/mbed-pinetime
This works fine for trying out the basic functions of the BMA.

Thanks.
Hopefully anyone does have a hint?

Question Transparent Pinebook Pro?
Posted by: soupbowl - 04-07-2020, 09:25 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (4)

Ages ago, there was a post over on the original Pinebook with a tech demo showing a transparent case.

Is this still on Pine64's radar to make a transparent shell version (would assume now if it was made, it'd be Pro)? Would definitely get the Pro if this was going to be made, looks really really good!

Help analyze COVID-19 with ARM and Android

Rosetta@home has been updated for ARM64 and Android.
4GB RAM needed.
On my LG G5 I had to set a higher RAM limit (not sure if I had set it previously) in the app.
Next I'm going to test on the Pinebook Pro.

  Pinebook Pro versions?
Posted by: geokon - 04-07-2020, 01:10 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (5)

I was looking at the instruction for installing ayufan's Ubuntu and came across this compatibility list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...=906638659

It says pinebook pro v1 doesn't work... How do I determine which version I have? Since I was in the first/second batch.. I assume I have the v1. If so.. can I order some replacement part or something to make things work? I've been keeping up with the news but I didn't notice an announcement for changes in the internals other than the plastic composition
