| another heatsink question - changing the pad |

I'm working on an enclosure for the rockpro64. The new version has provisions for active cooling but I'm having trouble with that and in testing found that the stock tall heatsink is almost enough. It can run full throttle and just barely need throttling. I'm thinking if I tried replacing the thermal pad with either some more exotic material or even just use thermal paste it would be enough. Unfortunately the DRAM under the heatsink isn't as tall as the SOC so using a thermal paste wouldn't work for the DRAM.
So I have a few questions. Does the DRAM actually need cooled or is it just located so close to the SOC it was a matter of "why not?" What have you tried to improve passive cooling?

Ordered PBPro two months ago. Excited about getting it soon (I hope)! It's been a challenge with Covid-19 and the pre-order process. I can see that I'm not used to waiting a long time for new stuff, anymore. Amazon ruined my patience, lol.
Anyone else awaiting shipment this month? I've been working hard not to restrain myself, and not pester the staff.

Here are the steps to enable and help testing GPS on Ubuntu Touch.
I strongly suggest you open SSH first:
Code: sudo mount -o rw,remount /
sudo umount /etc/init/ssh.override
sudo rm /etc/init/ssh.override
sudo start ssh
Step 1)
You need to be using OTA version 27 (May 17th) or newer. You should be on devel channel.
Step 2)
Fetch uNav and Pure Maps from OpenStore
Step 3)
Mount the volume so its rewritable
Code: sudo mount -o rw,remount /
Step 4)
Install gpsd
Code: sudo ubports-qa install xenial_-_edge_-_gpsd
Step 5)
Start GPS + some magic
Code: sudo gpsd start
sudo restart ubuntu-location-service
initctl unset-env --global UBUNTU_PLATFORM_API_BACKEND
initctl set-env --global UBUNTU_PLATFORM_API_BACKEND=touch_mirclient
Step 6)
Open uNav and request it to fetch your location.

Looking around there seems to be a lot of uncertainty (and of course Pine64 can't ship outside US). If anyone has found a trustworthy source (capacity/volume/dimensions/chip(etc)) please share. Thanks...

Not sure if this is posted elsewhere as a quick search didn't show it.
Happened upon my Pixel Headphones and plugged them into my PBP Running Manjaro, after setting them to default in the gui mixer they work just fine even show in the Mixer as "Pixel USB-C earbuds Analog Stereo"

Hello current and future European PinebookPro owners, I would appreciate if you share
how much were the import duties/taxes for you. And how it is calculated:
Is it fixed amount or percentage based or combination of both ?
Optionally it would be nice to tell your country too. But totally understandable if you don't want to.
Thank you!

| Symbol meaning in the schematic |

Hi,
Iam having a hard time understand the "<<" and ">>" symbols in the Pine64 RockPro64 schematic: http://files.pine64.org/doc/rockpro64/ro...21-SCH.pdf
Here is a simple example for 2 pins:
PCIE_PWR: is marked with >> from the SoC, then with >> again on the EN pin of the the switch (or whatever). This clear that this pin in output (from the SoC side)
DVP_PWR: is marked with << from the SoC, then with >> on the EN pin of the the switch. This is confusing, Since it is connected to the EN pin of the switch, then it should be output, but why it is marked with << from from the SoC?
Can anyone please explain what these symbols supposed to mean?
TIA
