Been lurking on these forum since getting my Manjaro convergence PinePhone. I've been around linux for a while but am definitely a novice with no significant programming or IT skill.
With that in mind, I gotta say, I am impressed with where Mobian stands right now. Maybe not a daily driver, but it feels like it's a bit undersold on the forums as to how close Mobian is to getting there.
Just want to call that out and say thank you to everyone who has been working on this. Great work and I am excited to see where this heads.

I had some issue but finally got my 3/32 GB mainboard upgrade working.
I loaded the Manjaro build.
I have Docker, Docker Compose, TMux, WGet loaded.
I can create and edit a multi container deployment, access it via Firefox or WGet and do it all while working on a bluetooth keyboard with trackpad using a full screen monitor.
This is awesome!!!!
I just wanted to share and thank everyone who made this possible!!!!

Tweak for charging through USB3 ?

Hi all,
I received my Pinephone a few days ago, installed mobian on it, and noticed I could not get the battery to fully charge while plugged to a USB3 port.
"Power supply" was showing me "Current limit : 0.5A", although I know an USB3 port can deliver much more.
So I went looking for a solution and ended up simply tweaking this current_limit by putting
into
Code: /sys/class/power_supply/axp20x-usb/input_current_limit
After that, yeepee! my phone is now charging a lot faster and finally approaching 100%.
But the thing is, I really don't know what I am doing there, and since I found a lot of posts about charging issues, I can't believe the solution is that simple.
So is it safe to change this input_current_limit ? Can I put that into a udev rule and consider the problem solved ? (i.e. : I can finally charge my phone simply by plugging it to my USB3 port) or do you guys see anything that can go wrong setting this input_current_limit manually ?

latest updates of libwlroots breaks phoc

on manjaro phosh, after updating (pacma -Syu), libwlroots version got updated.
leaving me with a broken device, because phoc seems to require the previous version of the lib:
Code: /usr/bin/phoc: error while loading shared libraries: libwlroots.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
the new version installs libwlroots.so.7
any Idea on how I could fix this ? I'm still trying to figure out how to downgrade the package and if that is safe...

Installing pure-maps from repository

Hi!
I want to install package pure-maps, which some sources say should be updated in alpine repository.
Still "sudo apk add pure-maps" gives "not found" error.
Should I add some additional repository on PostmarketOS?
I would rather avoid installing pure-maps via flatpak.
"flatpak install flathub io.github.rinigus.PureMaps" gives "flathub not found" error.
Please, how could one install pure-maps on PostmarketOS?
Preferrably in "apk add" way, or at least via flatpak?

Love the look of the phone and will probably end up getting one. However I do have a few things that past phones did that would make it even better.
The main thing is two stereo speakers right on the front rather than on the back. My OG Nexus 6 has that with one at either end of the screen and it's much better than having it on the back. I know I can use HDMI / audio jack for that and it'll sound better but if I'm using the phone on the go and showing a video to a friend of mine it is kind of a large issue.
The second idea is a little trickier and more of a software thing. My Atrix 4G had this thing called Webtop which when you plugged it in opened a full Linux installation. I know the phone IS Linux but it did a few neat tricks. The main one though was it let you use the phone as a trackpad/keyboard for the larger screen https://youtu.be/G8-92J9hfkA?t=56 I thought that was the very definition of a "killer feature" that no other phone had at the time, and that no phone as far as I know has anymore. Google bought it for the IP and then sold it to Lenovo, neither really doing anything with it. I know it's more of a software thing than a hardware one though (although I'm not sure about the TX capability of HDMI) and I could just use a Bluetooth keyboard.
As far as the kill switches those are awesome, but one has to take the back panel off to access them. My idea is for an option to have a back with a cut out access door that is either fitted to the switch controller or has a protective case with a sliding door over it which would protect it when not in use (especially since if a protective case is thrown on it, then you have to remove the case AND the back cover to access the switches at that point. I don't know if there are any case options available for it yet, but obviously it's good to plan ahead.
I just like throwing ideas out there. I'd make a post for each individual issue but I don't want to clutter up the board.

I have been using Pinephone UBports edition since August. I have been trying out different OS versions, but always had a stable customized SXMO build of PMOS which I have been using with all basic phone functionalities working.
When I upgraded to kernel 5.9.1 pmos sxmo on another sdcard, the wifi and bluetooth stopped working.
The demsg log is as follows -

[ 31.715260] usb-5v: disabling
Code:
Code: [ 27.839310] modem-power serial1-0: powered up in 18476 ms
[ 31.715157] vbat-wifi: disabling
[ 31.715197] avdd-csi: disabling
[ 31.715260] usb-5v: disabling
I see vbat-wifi disabling at the end and rtl8723cs kernel module for wifi doesn't load on turning on the phone or when the phone is rebooted.
ipconfig -a output -

I have tried different versions of OS and it is same on all. wifi and bluetooth interface is never started on all.
Anyone here encountered this error? I have tried different options browsing the internet with little, all kinds of help to fix this issue is welcome. Please help!!!
Below 2 error messages in dmesg indicate some issue with hardware -
[ 0.402520] SMCCC: SOC_ID: ARCH_FEATURES(ARCH_SOC_ID) returned error: fffffffffffffffd
[ 12.576228] dw-apb-uart 1c28c00.serial: failed to request DMA
Any kernel developers here who can debug these messages will be of great help.. Thanks

I was facing bluetooth issues with the latest manjaro phosh image.
bluetoothctl only displayed
Code: No default controller available
dmesg would give the following error:
Code: [ 11.573943] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8723cs_xx_fw.bin
[ 11.595217] Bluetooth: hci0: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8723cs_xx_config-pinephone.bin
[ 11.602883] bluetooth hci0: Direct firmware load for rtl_bt/rtl8723cs_xx_config-pinephone.bin failed with error -2
the file rtl8723cs_xx_config-pinephone.bin was missing in /usr/lib/firmware/rtl_bt/
but there was a rtl8723cs_xx_config-pinebook.bin
I just copied it and renamed it as the required one, rebooted, and bluetooth worked.
Just sharing in case someone else faced the problem..
