  DNS Problems with Mobile Data
Posted by: arno_nuehm - 02-20-2022, 08:04 AM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - Replies (29)

Hello there,

is anyone else facing DNS problems using mobile data after the latest Network Manager update to v1.35.91-1?

I can ping 8.8.4.4 for example but opening a homepage in a browser is not working.

No problems with Wifi though...

Thanks in advance!

  /tmp dependencies & ramdisk
Posted by: vap0rtranz - 02-19-2022, 11:51 AM - Forum: PostmarketOS on PinePhone - No Replies

What are system bootup dependencies on /tmp?

I've tried switching /tmp to be a ramdisk on PMOS and Mobian.  PMOS boots into console (no phosh) and Mobian won't boot at all.

Perhaps my /etc/fstab syntax is wrong??

Code:
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs rw,nosuid,nodev,size=613392k,mode=755 0 2

(Why switch /tmp from filesystem to ramdisk?  /tmp is the default BURST_DIR for Megapixels, and for Pure Maps cache; so a ramdisk should make taking pics & viewing maps faster.  Everyone could benefit Smile

well looks like it was my fstab syntax.  'default' in fstab worked.  Not ideal but it works:

Code:
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs default,size=524288k 0 2

Will this power supply work? 4.5mm -> 5.5mm conversion?
Posted by: TB12GOAT - 02-19-2022, 08:06 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinecil - No Replies

Hi, hope all is well.

I have an old laptop charger, 19.5v 3.34A 65W with a broken 4.5mm connector. link

Would there be any issues replacing the broken connector with one of these 5.5mmx2.5mm? link

Thanks!

  repository for arch-phosh
Posted by: oihantto64 - 02-19-2022, 04:18 AM - Forum: Arch Linux on PinePhone - Replies (8)

I have a pinephone with arch phosh installed. What are the absolutely necessary depository for future installations and/or updates? For example, I found that there were no packages installed of pine64 and phosh. By removing these depository, I could lighten pacman’s cache, yes or no?

Rainbow Archlinux Phosh On Btrfs with Snapper [IMG]
Posted by: kaida - 02-18-2022, 06:24 PM - Forum: PinePhone Pro Software - No Replies

I made snapper work on my Pinephone Pro , with working Rollback

Following my post I made there : https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=16029

Pre-made image are now available there : https://github.com/K-arch27/pinebtrfs/

After Flashing the Image you only need to install snapper and configure it to your need (or use the phone.sh from my repo to do it for you)

I also like to add snap-pac , to add pacman hook before and after each transaction, but that is up to you

  Keyboard Case Power Management Daemon
Posted by: estokes - 02-18-2022, 02:40 PM - Forum: PinePhone Pro Software - Replies (11)

Hi, I've made an attempt at writing the daemon Megi described in his blog post about the keyboard case. It's gone well enough that I thought it was time to share.

https://github.com/estokes/pinephone-kbpwrd

The focus is on maximizing efficiency by avoiding moving charge into the main battery where possible. I'm open to discussion, and especially feedback and data.

How To Have Pinephone Ignore MicroSD On Boot?
Posted by: britelite - 02-18-2022, 08:27 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Let's say someone had a boot file on their MicroSD card, but they wanted the Pinephone to ignore it and to boot from the internal eMMC, while the MicroSD card is inserted. Is there any way to do this, to hide the file somehow?

Because what if also you don't have a file like that on MicroSD, but loaded some files, and the Pinephone won't boot because it seems to be detecting some file as a boot file, but does boot when you take out the MicroSD?

Is there any way to force the device to ignore the MIcroSD card on boot, or has anyone had any issues of the MicroSD card preventing the device from booting on startup and how did you get it to ignore files it might detect and try to boot from?
