Where do the keyboard layouts go?

After effectively bricking the Mobian subpartition, won't boot, I went on trying out other OSes, now with three weeks of knowledge under my hat . Tried Fedora for a couple of days, and liked it but it had no sound during calls, unusable. And I don't feel like messing straight with the modem. So I tried Lune and Maemo Leste for about half an hour each, nice, and likewise not ready for day-to-day use.
So next on the list, the Manjaro Phosh.
Seeing how it looks a lot like Mobian, I managed to copy my contacts, call history, worked like a hitch. Now when it came to my pet peeve, the keyboard layouts, I saw that what it uses for keyboards is exactly the same squeekboard as I had in Fedora and Mobian. So I put the files where they're supposed to go, to /home/manjaro/.local/share/squeekboard/keyboards/ and... nothing happened. So I wonder what's wrong this time?
Other than that, so far so good... Even the camera app is better than Megapixels. But no, it IS Megapixels, yet it looks much better and works as expected.

Hi. I've been trying for months, with many different monitors. Hoping a software update would fix it. The screen doesnt detect the phone but the phone correctly detects the monitors. I am using the PP ogs convergance dock. I read things like a new dock might fix it, or flipping the direction of the usbc. Would appreciate any ideas.

PinePhone as Linux PDA?

Hello, All,
I’m considering a PinePhone/Keyboard purchase and was wondering if folks here might answer a few questions.
I’m fairly versed in Linux and understand that the PP is an indefinite WIP. I don’t expect to use it as a daily driver phone (but certainly hope to someday), but more as a Linux PDA.
1) Will a licensed TextMaker run on PP’s stock Manjaro?
2) Does Manjaro run a full Thunderbird, albeit slowly?
3) Is Newsboat or another terminal RSS reader available?
4) Are the keyboard configs configurable in /usr/share/X11/xkb/ ? For instance, I would like to remap the ?/ key to a Right Shift, then remap ?/ to fn+key or something similar
5) I have read that the kb keys are physically swappable. Is that true?
Many thanks for any answer or advice,
Jake

KB charger chip is off, press the button on the side to turn it on or charge it if it is empty.
pressing button does not change anything. battery used to work. charging indicator is On with USB power connected to keyboard.

Can RockPRO64 support PCIe Endpoint?

Hello,
I have been attempting to implement PCIe endpoint support on my RockPRO64 board over the past few weeks, but have not been successful and I am starting to doubt that the board can support PCIe EP mode. I'm fairly new to Linux and I am most likely overlooking/missing something as well, but before spending too much more time on this project, I wanted to ensure that it was even possible so I can pursue another route. Has anyone had success with this setup?
At the moment, I am using a custom Armbian build (Debian Sid, no Desktop, kernel v5.19.y) as I was having difficulty setting up Yocto and other off-the-shelf images did not seem to want to boot properly with my board.
I am essentially trying to replicate this tutorial on the RockPRO64 https://docs.nxp.com/bundle/GUID-3FFCCD7...055F0.html I am able to boot, create an endpoint function, but I am unable to bind the function to the controller as there isn't one!
If the board does truly support PCI Endpoint, I believe it is most likely due to improper configuration of the Device Tree on my end. My various attempts of patching did show some promise.
Apologies for the lack of information, I didn't want to write a lengthy post before determining what I am trying to do is even possible!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, and regards,
Andrew
