The whole reason why ive got it so that i can get Remix OS to run

How do I go about getting 2d and or 3d acceleration on this? I'm a noob so like ples help.

I just installed the xenial-mate-rock64-0.5.15-136-20180102-arm64-sd2emmc.img and after setting up my x11vnc, I noticed that when I connect to it, I get a black screen and the only thing visible is my mouse cursor.

I just purchased a Rock64 with 4GB RAM and 32GB emmc.

Have been trying to install and boot from a linux ubuntu .img  on a micro sd card.

I flash the .img image to the card using either Pine64 Installer or Etcher (Ive tried both). No problems or errors with these.

I then insert the card into the slot on the rock64. Then connect cables, including hdmi monitor, ethernet cable, then power supply (the official one from Pine). The lights appear, and after a few seconds I get what look like bios messages on the screen, about the usb, and a number of mmcblk error messages, i/o buffer error mmcblkp1, mmcblkp2, mmcblkp5, mmcblkp7, I assume these are the partitions on the micro sd device.

but it goes no further. No linux.


do I have to do anything else?

Ive tried several different images, see list below. all with similar results.

I´ve also tried removing the emmc chip and just using the micro sd, no difference,  I still get the same messages.

I have also tried 3 different micro sd cards, an 8gb, 16gb and a brand new toshiba class 10 64gb, also with no difference.

According to the Noob Pine64 instructions, I should receive a linux login prompt, but it does not seem to get that far and I cant find any information about this problem or what to do.

Would be great if someone could throw some light on this.

I have experience with installing images to raspberry pi, so I'm not a complete novice in this, but this is my first experience with rock64.   Is there some hardware issue which these  images do not take account of?

Hi All, this is my first post. 

I bought a Rock64 mainly to retroplay, I would like to know the how many gigabyte can handle Rock64, I mean can I buy a 128gb sd card? Or am I limited to 64gb? 

If you also suggest me a good sd card (I am not a expert at all) it would be really appreciate!

I am not sure if this is software related problem or is just my Rock64's micro-sd controller that is defective. I tried different micro-sd cards and they all perform really badly.


The following results were made with DietPi_v156_Rock64-arm64-(Stretch).img

Could someone perform some tests on their Rock64 using dd with my same options that I used and share their results?

I would love to understand if the problem are the Rock64's Linux distros not yet optimized or is my Rock64's micro-sd controller that is defective.

Some keyboard of my PINEBOOK 11" has become unusable.
There is no reaction even in xev comand.
You can enter via USB keyboard.

Even if you plug or unplug the MAINBOARD keyboard cable, the symptoms will not change.

There is `PINEBOOK 14" BOTTOM CASE WITH KEYBOARD AND TOUCHPAD BUILD IN ' in Pinebook Spare Parts, but is there handling of `PINEBOOK 11" BOTTOM CASE' ?

Or have there any other means of repair?

Hello I have rock64 running Android OS. I bought the following usb wifi dongle from pine64 store.

How do I get working on android please? I connected but it doesn't do anything. Do I need to configure wifi settings? If so can someone please tell me what settings to configure and how to do it? Thank you.
