  Debian Plex Installation Package

In case that someone wants to install Plex in Debian, you can download the last version from https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/221444...-odroid/p1

I am using ayufan Debian Stretch.

The steps are enable armhf and install the package with sudo dpkg -i filename.deb

  usermod and processes
Posted by: TrekkingBob - 01-05-2018, 09:50 AM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - Replies (3)

I am trying to change the username from rock64 to something more personal.

I have searched this forum and ubuntu's and in general. I am also running Xenial-Mate latest stable from the wiki. Fresh install to microSD.

If it helps at all, I've created a temp user called temp.

For reference, I've mainly followed this write up done on askubuntu.com.

So I have made sure to not be logged into rock64 user when running the

Code:
sudo usermod -l rock64 <newuser>

But I get this message
"user rock64 is currently used by process 2245" even after having ran the command

Code:
sudo kill 2245

I have also been running these commands through the CLI when you hit ctl-alt-f1 at loggin.

  eMMC with Pine64 512K
Posted by: burningkrome - 01-05-2018, 05:49 AM - Forum: General - Replies (4)

I'm posting this is Noobs since I am one to the Pine64 boards - although I've worked a bit with RaspPi.

I'm curious about the usage and benefits of eMMC memory. My current task involves installing Android on a Pine64 512k board. This device will run a single app (voice to text), and my goal is to run this single app with as much performance as possible.

Questions:
- Can eMMC BE USED with the Pine64 512K - or is it only for the new MM boards?

- If so, I know eMMC is generally for storing video data with high speed. Can eMMC be used for...
  - The OS? (eg. as a replacement for the SDCard)?
  - As general data storage (eg. for app and app-database storage...but at a higher access speed)?
  - As a replacement for RAM?

- Since one of the bennies of eMMC is the controller is integrated, and takes the load off the CPU. Would using it as OS or app data storage significantly improve the apps performance?

Thanks!

「carl9170.ko」は、「xenial-minimal-rock64-0.5.15-136-arm64.img.xz」のどこにあるのですか?
もしくは、どうすれば、ビルドできるのでしょうか?
Google Translate :
Where are "carl9170.ko" and "carl9170.fw" in "xenial-minimal-rock64-0.5.15-136-arm64.img.xz"?
Or, how can I build it?

I’m about to order my third SBC from Pine64, but at this point I really think as a repeat customer I should be able to get some sort of discount — even if it is free shipping.  So how about it?  Can I get the hoookup?  I’m not going to place an order without one.

Archive of past Rock64 Linux Images?
Posted by: wbecks - 01-03-2018, 12:25 PM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCK64 - Replies (3)

Is there an archive of past community Rock64 Linux images?   Current releases of Ayufan seem to have incomplete audio support with no apparent way to direct audio output from the internal 3.5 mm headphone (A/V) jack.   There was a community SD card Linux image that I don't believe was Ayufan, that did support audio from the headphone jack dating back to the late October or November 2017 time frame.

Current Ayufan images do produce HDMI audio but nothing from the 3.5 mm A/V (headphone) jack.   I would appreciate any help with gaining access to back archives or help to configure audio on the headphone jack.

Thank you,

Bill, WA8WG
