Hi
I have just managed to get this version to load on my Rock)ro64.
It goes all the way through booting and gives a login prompt.
But when I try to login I get a quick flash screen shown RockPro and then it just drops back to the login prompt.
Anyone got further.
If so what did you do>
Thanks

Lightbulb Smart mirror software

We are creating an Android powered touch screen smart mirror using the Rockpro64 single board computer and would like some feedback on features people would be interested in seeing.

Which one or more of the following features would you find useful and/or interesting:
1) Multi user login with face recognition.
2) Google assistant with voice matching.
3) Event driven object recognition - for example: you could ask the mirror to let you know when your children have returned from school, or if an unauthorised user walks in front of it.
4) Pet interaction - for communicating with your pets whilst away from home.
5) A makeup overlay - a view of yourself in the mirror with configurable makeup overlayed on to your face.
6) Clothing overlay - wear clothes in front of the mirror so it learns the clothes, then when stood in front of the mirror in the future, the same clothes can be overlayed onto any user. - and as a bonus for businesses users, we could add pricing on screen for each item of clothing.

Thank you in advance - Smart DIY Tech

  Raspberry Pi OneNineDesign Case "Mod"
Posted by: MichaelRock - 06-04-2018, 05:15 AM - Forum: Rock64 Hardware and Accessories - Replies (2)

Hi,

I've bought a quite cheap (2.36 €) version of this case on aliexpress for tinkering, don't know if it's a copy or not, case looks very good and nicely polished.

In order to put a Rock64 into it, some "adjustments" were needed, mostly for the board to fit inside, but also for power and A/V jack which are weirdly shifted a bit on the right when you put the board in front of you.

here [click to show the album] are some pics of the "rough surgery" the case got.

There are still some work to do to get access to switches near the recovery one and make a hole for the IR receiver just in case.

I first use pliers to remove the big plastic part inside, then a modelling knife and a grinding tool to got a smooth finish.

(If you have any trouble accessing the album, please let me know, I upload pics on imgBB and set the permission in order anyone clicking on the link can show it)

Does anyone have technical reference manual
Posted by: ddaarrius - 06-03-2018, 03:07 PM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCK64 - Replies (3)

Hi there!

I recently got the ROCK64 board and wanted to dig around a bit. I noticed a file Rockchip_RK3328TRM_V1.1-Part1-20170321.pdf is mentioned quite a bit, but the only source for it I could find is website opensource.rock-chips.com and it is dead. Does anyone have the document and could PM it or post it here?

Thank you, have a great day!

Is PINE64 building a Custom Linux for RockPro64?
Posted by: Ben Hayat - 06-02-2018, 11:45 PM - Forum: Linux on RockPro64 - Replies (3)

Hi team;

My first post;

I'm a .Net Core developer and recently did a test with Raspberry Pi 3, where I build a simple server side app in Windows and .Net core and uploaded it to the RPi3 and it ran great. What made it very seamless was Raspbian that worked closely with the board.

However, for my needs, I'm interested in RockPro64, because it has all those things I need that RPi3 is missing. My question is, is PINE64 creating a custom OS that is suited for RockPro64?

Thank you in advance!
..Ben

  Apt-get update duplicate entry error
Posted by: Jxck - 06-02-2018, 11:26 AM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - Replies (1)

I don't know a lot about Linux but when i run apt-get update on R64 on OMV i get this.

Code:
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://packages.openmediavault.org/public/ erasmus/main arm64 Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/packages.openmediavault.org_public_dists_erasmus_main_binary-arm64_Packages)
W: Duplicate sources.list entry http://packages.openmediavault.org/public/ erasmus/main armhf Packages (/var/lib/apt/lists/packages.openmediavault.org_public_dists_erasmus_main_binary-armhf_Packages)
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
I've looked this up but cant figure out how to fix it.

  Pinning of A/V jack
Posted by: Osiander - 06-02-2018, 10:25 AM - Forum: Rock64 Hardware and Accessories - Replies (3)

Hello together,

I need an adapter / cable for video output of my Rock64 board.

Is this pinning of the plug correct?

TIP = GND
first RING after the TIP = video / cvbs
second RING after the TIP = right channel
SLEEVE = left channel

Is that correct?

Many thanks.

Linux images are impossible to download.
Posted by: superpat - 06-02-2018, 05:07 AM - Forum: Linux on RockPro64 - Replies (16)

Hi,

Today, Saturday morning, I cannot successfully download any images from the github ayufan directory.

Using LInux mint, Firefox with S3 download manager addon.

Download starts, runs for short time, then hangs.  I can resume it several times, maybe getting to 40-50% then down ceases and is CANCELLED by external event, not me!

This forces complete restart.  I have run through my IP's data allowance several times over trying to get one iso complete!

PLEASE COULD PINE PROVIDE AN ALTERNATE DOWNLOAD SITE THAT IS RELIABLE??

regards

Patrick

  New ROCK64 doesn't boot
Posted by: p3ntium - 06-02-2018, 05:05 AM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCK64 - Replies (18)

Hello all:
in first place, I want to say hello to all, I'm a new user of Rock64 and this forum.

I've received my new Rock64 yesterday, and I can't get to boot never...
I've tried with a lot of images from the Pine64 installer and others burned with Etcher (ubuntu, xenial, diet, openmediavault, etc)
I've tried with two differents SD cards
I've tried with network and without it
I've tried with a usbserial connected to 6, 8 and 10 pin to monitor console output (no output received)

... and the result is always the same:

The green led is on
The red led is on
The white led is on
All permanently
And there is no output from HDMI

Someone can help me to understand what's wrong? Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance...
