hi everyone!
i was wondering about the usefulness of the eDP pinouts.
since the eDP port has only 30 pins is it even capable of driving resolutions higher than FHD?
can i just connect a standard notebook LCD with 30pin edp input?

Hi,
I am trying to get the 8812au driver working for wifi. I have checked and there are some threads here that address this. However, if I try and build from source or from packages, I cannot get it to work for various reasons. The way I tried most recently was evilbunny's .deb from his/her fileserver. I am using ayufan's Debian Stretch image, then just pull the file from evilbunny's server and attempt an install using apt: sudo apt install ./<debName>
I end up with an error bad return aarch64, which I assume is something to do with building for aarch64 and not arm64 as we should, but I think evilbunny has this working for arm64... Am I using the wrong image? Which OS is evilbunny's .deb for 8812au confirmed to be working for? Here is the link to evilbunny's server: https://files.evilbunny.org/
Note that I also tried manually building from source from gordboy's repo, but after some modifications the build fails because of directory reference issues (i.e directory does not exist) even though the directory does exist...
Anyway, I think simplest is to install the driver from evilbunny's .deb, but cannot get it to work.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Best Regards,
pane

Just got my pinebook 11.6 (1080p) a couple days ago. Overall I am pleased with it but am having some issues with apt-get. I am still running KDE neon which came on the pinebook. I add repository key - get the OK response, then apt-get update -this seems to go like normal, but when I try to apt-get install <package> i get 'E: unable to locate package <package>' I'm fairly new to linux in general and am really stuck on this issue. I've tried sudo apt-add-repository multiverse etc but am still getting the same error unable to locate package. Should I try to flash a different os? or am i missing something simple here? I'd really appreciate any help with this.
Thanks!

| Pinebook serial info |

Hello everyone,
I need help understanding the possibility of using the audio jack a serial connection. Specifically I want to know:
1. How to enable this serial port
2. What I can do with it
I've found at least 3 different ways to activate it: the guide pointed by the store (http://files.pine64.org/doc/pinebook/gui..._Guide.pdf), the pinebook_enable_uart.sh script (https://github.com/ayufan-pine64/linux-b...le_uart.sh) and toggling the switch inside the case.
Only the switch worked for me, and I was able to see the Pinebook boot logs and access a login shell. I was also able to open /dev/ttyS0 from the Pinebook and send characters to the other end, but I wasn't seeing anything I wrote from my other laptop (is it supposed to work like this? Only a login shell, not controllable thorugh other means?).
Now, if I had to open the case every time to switch back, I'm just going to keep the audio jack. I've eard on the Discord channel however that the soft switch should in fact work. Is that the case? Which method should I use then? None of what I've tried seems to work.

Hi all, I just got my pine A64+ 2GB I followed the steps on flashing multiple OS and here are my results:
archlinux-xfce-pine64-20181104
xenial-pine64-bspkernel-20161218-1
xubuntu-xenial-mate-20161215-longsleep-pine64-8GB
I connect my pine64 via hdmi Ethernet and a usb keyboard. It successfully loads into the login page but my keyboard does not power up. I'm stuck at the login page and I can't do anything.
I tried android-ver6.0-20170112-pine64-32GB.img as well and for this OS, the HDMI output does not show anything.
Any advice on how to make it work?
