There has been much discussion on this.
Also : Have you tried holding the power button for a full 12 seconds (or more) when attempting a hard shut down ?
The newest Beta 1 downloaded to an sd card seems to run better than the OS pre-installed runs.
Ouch! Hopefully that hasn't happened since I'm not even attempting to use the phone functions yet (no SIM card installed and haven't run the phone application.) What are the symptoms if modem firmware was corrupted? Any way to recover other than replacing the mainboard? I did discover the use-a-paperclip reset button in the back and used that to recover from the last crash. Previously I had held the power button down for what seemed like a good long time but I don't know if it was a full 12 seconds or more. I can try that again and time it.
I'm planning to copy the multi-distro image to an SD card to try a few different distros and see if others also lock up.
