Diagnosing and fixing failure to wake from suspend(Diagnosed HW issue)

I amusing the latest Mobian trixie on my PPpro, slightly modified with an older kernel as this seems toavoid the non-working wake button issue. https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?tid=19940

My issue is that unless I run the caffeine toggled on my phone falls into a suspend coma nad no charge cable, phone call, or wake button brings it back.  If the indicator LED was blinking it will continue,it might have even been one case where an audiobook was running and I couldnt get it back thoug that might be the intermittent non function of the wake/sleep button in the OS(holding still triggers a shutdown).

I do NOT have a serial cable to get the logs right at the fall into suspend coma.

I opened my PPpro and removed/reattached the ribbon cables easily accessed after removing the extrenal screws, this has fixed the bootup issue and I am sure the sleep --> coma problem too.

And now after 30 min we are back to needing to smakc the Pinephonepro to boot after doing a pwr/wake button hold to hard shutdown; the coma after suspend is still a problem, it is probably the ribbon cable but what to do now other than try what I did again.

It turns out the narrow RF shield at the top left of the PCB to the left of the silkscreened word "Pinephonepro", below the two rectangular camera connectors, and above the square modem/CPU RF shield has come loose, solder joint failed.  when the shield is pressed down the PPpro can boot and when not present no boot is possible, once bootup starts it is not needed....
I might have to just buy a new board for my PPpro.....
(edit)trying to fix using a paper shim to hold the RF cover tight. doesnt work..
Maybe I can find a hot air gun and fix this as there are so many small parts I dont want to touch with a soldering iron and glob with solder.
This loose RF shield is also why my PPpro can't ever exit power saving mode.

Does anyone have a PinePhone pro and hopefully a pinephone keyboard(mine was stolen) they want to sell? private message me please.....

I bought another system board from pine64 about 1/3 the price of a PPpro, similar issue, but on top of that the new board's modem no longer creates a sound interface after about 36 hours of use. No phone call audio left a bug report at biktorgi's git but there seems to be no reflashing or factory flashing solution to the issue. It seems to not be that RF shield(Idid solder it back down and reinstalled it, same issue.
If I could buy a replacement Pinephone pro I would...  Assembled and tested. 
The librem 5 and even the librem liberty both have a 4x A53 processor similar to my old allwinner pinephone which I am using now, not enough CPU apps crash everywhere, the rockchip CPU is good and has similar battery burn, and with hibernate is a great all day daily driver.  But it got cancelled when I needed a new one.

Are there any projects in the foreseeable future that provide everything the PPpro did without having to resort to android drivers and libhybris?

is this the end of real user respecting mobile phones, is there any hope for a new full power CPU flagship from pine64, Purism, or another unknown?

Liberux and dawndrums are both working on smartphones with a RK3588S CPU (according to Liberux: "8-core 64-bit (4×Cortex-A76+4×Cortex-A55)"). Expected release late next year.

They are both aiming for mainline kernels and no libhybris/Halium (and also no Android fastboot). Dawndrums also open hardware, they already released the schematics of the current prototypes. The kernel mainlining effort for the SoC they both use (RK3588S) is coordinated at Collabora, and a lot of stuff is already mainlined by now. But as far as I know, even the downstream vendor kernels from Rockchip do not require any Android HALs.

If PINE64 wants to do an updated PinePhone Pro, it would be wise for them to pick the RK3588S SoC as well.
