I assume that all banking apps run under Android. Linux offers Android emulators. Has anyone installed such an emulator on their phone? Which OS? Does it connect to their bank? I am running openSUSE.

waydroid is the way to go for android emulation. as far as "will your bank app work?" this is very dependent on the bank's app. the only way to really tell is to try to install and run it.

Just be warned that bank apps in particular are known to be extremely picky for "security" reasons, so do not count on them to run under Waydroid (or in general on anything other than an official, non-rooted Android phone running the very latest Android).

Thanks for the warning. I suspected that. I bought my Pinephone mostly as an adult toy. I don't use a smart phone preferring an ancient phone-only Nokia, but it's getting hard to interface with banks and governments.
