Re-do First Time Setup / Location Services Setting (How?)
#1
The "Location" section of the Mobian wiki says:
When the Mobian first time setup wizard asks if you want to send location data to Mozilla Location Services answer “Yes.”

I answered "No" to that question. Sad

I don't know how important it is WRT obtaining location and usable maps, but how do I "undo" my selection? I've searched these forums and also "grep-ed", "locate-ed" and "find-ed" on my Mobian system as best I can to locate the controlling proggy, script or configuration file to no avail or discovery.

Thanks for any help.

I said the same thing to someone else on this forum very recently.
You don't have to answer "yes", it's only important if you need to use things like GPS or a weather application.
Other than that, it has no meaning.

If you need to know where to turn it on or off, settings app → Privacy → Location information service.

I haven't tried it, but imagine if you delete ~/.config/gnome-initial-setup-done you will get another shot at it all?

Thanks! Completely deleting the file worked. Previously I just changed the file contents from "yes" to "no".

I am interested in the GPS. So far, I have only been able to get a position fix once. The SNR is too weak most of the time, I think. My other Android phones and ages-old Garmin hiking GPS (which lacks AGPS) work great but my Pine Phone is useless for GPS--at this time at least. Oh well. At least I can carry my old Garmin GPS when I need to know my position. Big Grin
