I live in Switzerland and often buy products directly in China from Aliexpress.com. They have an excellent store, and shipping via Aliexpress standard shipping is cheap, I guess around 10 USD for a 150 USD device. Shipping time over Aliexpress standard shipping is about two week and reliable. You can send products also through China Post, which is even cheaper, but takes more than a month. When the PinePhone is produced in China or Asia, why not to choose Asias best store with Asias best shipping method?
469 pieces are currently available on Aliexpress. The only limitation is that he only sells a maximum of 5 pieces per customer. I hope this limitation will also be overcome soon, since I need more than 5 pieces:

Here is an example of an Aliexpress seller. He solved a problem I had for a long time, namely to connect an EEG sensor to a phone or PC. He solved it by adding a Bluetooth module. I m very happy about this product. It offers many connection software possibilities which where not available before, for instance by using BlueSoleil.
