Garbled Video Display With Multiple Operating Systems
#1
I am getting this really blurry video as depicted in this image for some operating systems when I try to use them with my PBP.

This occurs with the following operating systems:

chromiumos-rockpro64-R77-12371.7.104.g78f88d6.img

pinebookpro-debian-desktop-mrfixit191226.img

pine64-installer-2.0.0-beta.3-darwin-x64.dmg

But this works fine:

focal-gnome-pinebookpro-0.10.12-1184-arm64.img

I'm assuming this is a driver issue since it works with Ubuntu but not with others?  Any idea why this is happening?

Sorry to bump this thread, but any thoughts on why I may be experiencing garbled video with some operating systems listed as supported on the wiki?

I've seen a few others report this kind of issue, and unfortunately don't know why (and will be watching this to see if the solution is found.) But I want to let you know that

is not an OS for the PBP. That's a(n outdated) fork of Etcher. That one in particular is for Macs.

Have you tried Booting Fedora or Manjaro to test for this garbled video, also? While booted from one of the OS options that has the video issue, are you able to get to tty, and does the video issue persist within the tty?

I think I may have mistakenly included "pine64-installer-2.0.0-beta.3-darwin-x64.dmg" in my post since it was on my file system and that's where I was looking for filenames to include.

In any case, Manjaro and Fedora work fine.

I know how that goes!

Interesting, the mainline kernel options seem to do well but those 2 BSP options don't. Are you running these from SD?

Fedora is currently running from the emmc.  Can't remember if I tried Manjaro again from the emmc or not tbh.  I have blown away the OS so many times I have lost track!
