Official Debian release won't boot!?!
#1
SBC:    Rockpro64 v2.1 4Gb
OS:    Official Debian Release (un-bootable)

So I decided to try the Official Debian release on my RockPro64
and the installation went fine but would not [re]boot after the
installation.

Any ideas, recommendations, suggestions?

TIA,
/Faradn

We must copy some files from an ayufan image.

Here an thread on my private forum (only german)
https://forum.frank-mankel.org/topic/831...n-bullseye

We need from boot partition:

folder dtbs
folder efi
folder extlinux

And we must edit extlinux.conf

After this Debian Bullseye is running fine Smile

In my experience, the official installer in unstable does not install the bootloader yet.
If you have flashed the bootloader to SPI, you only need to take care of extlinux.conf and the dtb files (the EFI stuff is imho not needed) as described by Bullet64.
If you don't have the bootloader in SPI, you have to manually build and flash the bootloader to your sdcard.

=> As of now, installing Debian unstable using the official installer does not work as intended yet. I can't recommend it for end-users.

So, i have done some testing Wink

It boots from
  • PCIe NVMe SSD
  • PCIe SATA ASM1062
  • USB2
  • USB3 **only Samsung SSD T5** boots
We can use normal installation or installation with LVM and password protection.

The fan is rotating too. Big Grin

I am only testing minimal installation, no interest in desktop on SBC.
