Pinephone won't let me enter password
#1
I updated my Pinephone tonight and when it restarted, I cannot enter the passphrase to boot the phone. It's like the keyboard doesn't work. This is the Mobian version.
Anybody know how to help me?
Thanks!

You did not mention if you are running from the eMMC or an sd card.?

The simplest GUI fix would be to just put on a whole fresh new install.

"This is the Mobian version"    ?

Mobian phone,  or  Mobian operating system,  or both.?

Sorry for the missed info.
I am running from the phone, no sd card. This is the Mobian community edition, and I haven't changed anything.
Thank you.

There are multiple ways to 'fix' your phone. depending on your Linux experience.
My suggestion would be a fresh install of the nightly release.
Simply download from the Mobian site, then use the jump drive method
to install it to your phone. If you do not want to run from an sd card.
Pretty good instructions on doing that in the forum and the wiki.
I prefer running from the sd card as I change fairly often.
On my daily driver I change about every 3 to 6 weeks with updates inbetween.... My extra test phones I sometimes change daily.
The latest Mobian release has reduced the power usage a lot.

Sent from a Manjaro Convergent phone running Mobian nightly release from September 1st on an sd card... using Pure Talk for my mobile data connection.

Good Luck !

Thank you! I got it running again.

I have this problem periodically when I am too impatient to open the phone, especially after rebooting. If I wait until modem comes up (see bars) and the little ^ at bottom starts to wiggle, before swiping up, I never have a problem! Coincidence? Witchcraft? Not sure. Smile
