Passcode to login to Manjaro on Pinephone
#1
Hey all,

I just installed Manjaro Alpha2 on an SD Card on the Pinephone but once it finished installing it is asking me for a passcode but I have no idea what that could be. I was never given the opportunity to enter a username and password as it just went to the screen to enter a passcode. I tried 1234 but it fails.

Anybody have any ideas to offer?

Thank you in advance!

Solved!

It was 123456. Then I was able to get in and change it through the terminal.

the username and passwords for user and root access are normally available on the software releases page on the pine64.org site, as well as the download pages for individual distributions

Edit: I only found a demo username and password and it doesn't work. What else you got?

Thank you so much for this. I've been looking, and waiting, for days, for someone to help with my issue, and I think I just found the answer. I keep putting my password in sudo and it keeps saying, "Sorry, try again." I've emailed people, posted in the forums, asked all over, and on Reddit. In trying to play around with my new device, but it's basically bricked, when I can't even set it up to randomize its MAC address! I'm gonna get back to it now.

Thank you. I tried both and neither worked. What else can I try?

Here's a list of things I've exhausted:
1. emailed Pine64
2. checked the forums
3. "root"
4. "123456"
5. the password I use to gain access to the phone
6. "147147"
7. "demo/147147"
8. made a post in the forum (almost a week old and no response)

Just a reminder: I'm on this new pmOS phone they just released. To be clear, I need root access to run a MAC randomization script, so the unit is bricked until I resolve the issue. No real rush, but I am disappointed in Pine64 a little bit.
